Society of Licensed Conveyancers announces release of its 31st Client Guide

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) has for a number of years been compiling a comprehensive library of Client Guides for members to provide their clients covering a wide range of subjects.

The Guides, which are kept up to date according to any regulatory or other change include guides on legal matters (such as joint ownership), property information (such as searches), environmental issues (such as Japanese Knotweed) and other issues (such as buying properties with septic tanks, or a Green Deal loan).

The latest Guide is in respect of the Green Homes Grant which the Government has announced will be extended to 31st March 2022.

Simon Law, SLC Chairman, commented:

“As the world of conveyancing gets ever more complex, it is a challenge to ensure that clients are fully aware of all the issues that may affect the sale and purchase of their home.

“The SLC Client Guides, which have been developed over several years, allow our members to provide clear and appropriate information to their clients in plain English in a timely fashion. The popularity of the Guides is such that several solicitors have joined the Society in order to access use of the Guides for their firms.

“From the conveyancers’ perspective the Guides also provide a clear audit trail that appropriate information has been provided to client during the course of the transaction.”
