The SLC Launches New Client Guide on the Renters’ Rights Act 2025

The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) has launched a new Client Guide on the Renters’ Rights Act 2025, providing member firms with a practical resource to help clients understand the implications of one of the most significant changes to the private rented sector in recent years.

Written in plain English, the guide supports conveyancers in explaining the impact of the legislation to buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants. By presenting complex legal changes in a clear and accessible format, it helps reduce client confusion, streamline communications and support more efficient transactions.

The guide forms part of the SLC’s extensive library of more than 40 client-facing guides, available exclusively to member firms. The library covers a wide range of property-related topics, including Restrictive Covenants, Boundaries, Septic Tanks (England and Wales), Transfers of Title and Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT), helping conveyancers explain complex issues clearly and consistently to clients.

SLC Chairperson Simon Law said:

“Our client guides have become an invaluable resource for member firms. They are written in straightforward, jargon-free language, making it easier for clients to understand complex issues without lengthy explanations. This saves conveyancers significant time and helps reduce repeated questions, allowing them to focus on the technical aspects of the transaction.

The new Renters’ Rights Act 2025 guide continues this approach, providing a clear and practical resource to help conveyancers support clients during a period of significant legislative change.”

The SLC continues to welcome Associate Members, including solicitors and legal executives, who benefit from full access to the complete guide library alongside the wider professional advantages of SLC membership.
