RICS expands approval of The Property Ombudsman service
From 1 January 2019, The Property Ombudsman (TPO) will be approved by RICS to provide Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) on all surveying services provided to consumers.
This approval extends their current approval for residential agency (lettings, estate agency and property management), making TPO the only ADR provider approved for consumer-facing disputes for all surveying services.
This announcement does not affect the pre-existing ADR approvals for consumer disputes in the UK, of which a full list is available for download. The Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) will continue to be the default ADR provider for surveying services outside of residential agency and the Property Redress Scheme will also continue to be approved for residential agency.
