OneSearch Direct Commissions Impact Study on Price Transparency Proposals
OneSearch Direct, the largest local search data company in the UK, has commissioned an impact study in collaboration with Tonic Works and supported by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers, to investigate the impact of adding an instant fee estimate generator to a law firm’s website. The findings are to be examined in a series of free roadshow and networking events held across the UK, including Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London (Legalex), and Bristol, starting from February 1st.
The impact study is in response to framework proposals set out by the CLC, SRA and CILEx in September 2017, which suggests law firms publish a schedule of fees or provide an instant conveyancing estimate tool on their website in order to produce a transparent cost estimate for consumers. The proposals come after the CMA published its final market study report into legal services, concluding an inefficiency in competition within legal services, due to lack of information available on price, quality and service.
