Martello joins Mishcon de Reya’s MDR Lab Programme

London, UK – 02 June 2023: Martello, a digital platform that is building the first live ‘property search’ database to help speed up the home buying process, has today announced that it has joined the summer cohort of MDR Lab, the product-focused innovation programme of Mishcon de Reya, one of the UK’s leading law firms.

Over the coming 12 weeks, Martello will work closely with lawyers and other stakeholders from around the MDR Group to pilot and improve its “instant searches” product. Martello will also benefit from access to MDR Lab’s network of investors, mentors, and partners.

Dr. Henry Crosby PhD, CEO of Martello, said:

“We are delighted to be joining the MDR Lab summer cohort.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for us to work with some of the leading minds in the legal industry and to get feedback on our product from real-world users.

“We believe that MDR Lab can help us to accelerate our growth and to make a real difference to the way that property transactions are conducted.”

MDR Lab was launched in 2017 to enable Mishcon de Reya to work uniquely and exclusively with early-stage technology start-ups in the legal space, including those at concept-stage, to help them prioritise efforts on their path to product-market fit.

Dan Sinclair, Head of MDR Lab, said:

“We are excited to welcome Martello to the MDR Lab summer cohort.

“The company’s vision to build the first live property constraints and search database is incredibly exciting and we believe that it has the potential to transform the conveyancing process.

“We look forward to working with the team to help them bring their product to market.”

The MDR Lab summer cohort also includes Ayora, a cash management platform that provides large enterprises with data and strategies to help reduce the lock-up period and improve cash flow, and ApprentAI, a GenAI document review platform which helps litigators find meaningful insights within their cases.
