SPECIAL FEATURE: LFS Welcomes Government Drive to Speed Up the Home Buying Process

The government’s latest announcement on digitisation and speeding up the home buying process reflects a long-standing ambition shared by Law Firm Services (LFS) to make property transactions faster, transparent, and more data-driven.

Minerva is already delivering what the government envisions.

Back in 2008, LFS designed a platform that processed Home Information Packs. That same commitment continues today through Minerva, the award-winning client onboarding platform developed by us.

Since 2020, Minerva has been helping law firms and estate agents gather key property data at the point of listing, ensuring properties are contract ready as soon as a sale is agreed.

Today, Minerva’s customers deliver this service directly to their referring agents, while the platform digitises ID and AML verification, automates Land Registry data collection and supports the onboarding of property sale transactions every month.

Minerva already helps to accelerate transactions and dramatically reduce onboarding time, delivering a more efficient, compliant, and client-focused experience for all parties involved. Intelligent client onboarding is a key driver to ensuring the right information is collated at the right time – for both conveyancer and client.

Providing our own law firm clients with an effortless process has always been our aim.

As an official licensee for the TA6 Property Information Form, Minerva captures the key material facts required to support the government’s direction. With the TA6 6th edition set to launch next week, Minerva is ready to deliver an updated and compliant solution for law firms and their clients.

The team at Minerva welcome this latest consultation and the opportunity for the industry to contribute its expertise. However, we also recognise that legislative reform takes time, and that real, lasting change will only come when digital innovation is fully embedded across the process.

This consultation represents a positive and practical step forward toward that goal. We encourage all stakeholders to engage constructively, ensuring that the reforms deliver tangible improvements for conveyancers, agents, and consumers alike.

As a business we remain committed to supporting the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) in driving meaningful digitisation continuing the mission we began over a decade ago: to make home buying faster, clearer, and smarter for everyone involved.
