Changes to the Management Board at law firm Collyer Bristow

Law firm Collyer Bristow has made changes to its Management Board following a Partnership election to appoint new departmental heads.

Joining the Management Board are Michael Grace, previously Head of the Real Estate Litigation team and now Head of Real Estate; Robin Henry, a Partner in the Banking & Financial Disputes team and now Head of Dispute Resolution; and Peter Daniel, a Partner in the Tax & Estate Planning team and now Head of Private Wealth.

Continuing to serve on the Board are reappointed Senior Partner, Daniel Simon; Chief Executive, Phillip Palmer; Head of Corporate & Commercial, Jeff Roberts; and Head of Employment, Tania Goodman. Patrick Wheeler, Head of Intellectual Property & Data Protection, is stepping down from the Board.

Commenting on the changes, Daniel Simon said: “Over the past four and a half years our firm has flourished, and I would like to pay tribute to those serving on the Board for their immensely hard work during that time. Michael Grace heads the firm’s Real Estate department, encompassing commercial real estate, real estate disputes and construction.

Michael advises clients on high value disputes in the commercial real estate sector. His clients include investors, developers, and landlord and tenants for whom he has acted for many years.

Michael’s practice focuses on the larger, more complex, cases covering a wide range of property issues such as termination of leases, dilapidation claims, service charge disputes, rent review issues and business lease renewals and terminations but extends also to dealing with professional negligence and joint venture disputes.

Peter Daniel is Head of Private Wealth, the firm’s offering for high net worth families and individuals comprising trusts, tax and estate planning; family law; media & privacy; residential property; and corporate/commercial services supporting the business interests of entrepreneurs and business owners.

Peter specialises in trusts, tax and estate planning, specifically acting for high net worth individuals, particularly those with cross-jurisdictional affairs, trustees and beneficiaries of UK and overseas trusts, and executors and administrators of estates, including those involving disputes.

Peter has particular expertise in advising clients with a US element to their affairs.

Robin Henry heads the firm’s broad Dispute Resolution department comprising Banking & financial; general commercial; employment; and IP disputes.

Robin is a member of our Banking & Financial Disputes team. He has wide experience of financial disputes and has developed an expertise in advising clients on complex FX derivative contracts. He is experienced in advising on financial mis-selling claims and also advises clients subject to investigation by the FCA.

He also has broad experience of both contentious and non-contentious banking and insolvency matters, with an emphasis on financial markets work and distressed debt. Robin gained experience of distressed debt trading from being seconded to Morgan Stanley and has since advised clients in this area, including on Lehman and MF Global claims.
