Aconveyancing marks Stamp Duty holiday end with charity fundraising challenge

14th September 2021 – Aconveyancing has announced its team will be marking the Stamp Duty holiday end with a Facebook takeover day, celebrating the achievements of staff during such a busy period, discussing industry issues and trends, while raising money for a great cause at the same time.

Staff have challenged themselves throughout September to collectively walk 10 million steps in aid of their charity partner Alex’s Wish. With thirty-five staff across three offices, this works out an average step-count of 285,715 per person.

While the rest of the team have their feet firmly on the ground counting steps, the company’s founder and director Natalie Moore, will be taking to the skies to participate in an aerial Loop The Loop Challenge alongside the country’s best aerobatics display pilots. All sponsorship proceeds will go to Alex’s Wish.

Natalie is looking forward to the takeover day, saying:

“On one hand, conveyancers have been incredibly fortunate during this pandemic to be working and employing people.  But it’s been a gruelling time for everyone, and this Facebook takeover day is about congratulating our industry as a whole, taking a moment to recognise the hard work we have collectively put in over the last eighteen months, raising money for a great cause and having some fun along the way.”

Emma Hallam, Founder of Alex’s Wish, comments:

“We were delighted when we were contacted by Samantha Burrows to say that Aconveyancing had selected Alex’s Wish to support this year. It’s been an incredibly difficult time for charities like ourselves during the Pandemic and we are so delighted to receive their support and wish them every success with their fundraising. Every single penny raised will make a difference to our mission to conquer Duchenne for all. We cannot thank them enough.”

Aconveyancing’s charity partner, Alex’s Wish, raises much needed funds for research to treat and one day eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic condition which affects one in every 3,500 boys. Until recently, children born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) did not often live beyond their teens. This much-needed funding is now helping these young boys live into their twenties and thirties.

On the day itself, Thursday September 30th, staff from three offices across Tamworth, Bromsgrove and Shirley will be working hard to complete cases before the deadline.

A handful of the team will be giving a small amount of their time to take part in the takeover, and industry guest speakers will join live video sessions to offer insight and discussion on topics including:
  • The top 10 most commonly asked conveyancing questions
  • Tips for those thinking of buying or selling property
  • Advice on estate planning, Wills & Probate
  • Expert opinion from local estate and letting agents
  • Mortgage advice from an industry specialist
