UK law firm Shoosmiths appoints new Head of Conveyancing

UK law firm Shoosmiths has announced a new Head of Conveyancing, partner Suman Dally, the position being effective from 1 May 2021.

Suman will be taking the reins of the £9.2m turnover practice from conveyancing partner David Parton, who has headed the market-leading practice since 1997 during which time he has also been an adviser to the Law Society and UK Mortgage Finance and been technical chair of the Conveyancing Association. The firm has also announced that David shall be heading-up the firm’s Personal Advisory division, taking over from partner Richard Follis who is to become the firm’s first General Counsel.

Suman boasts more than 25 years’ experience in residential conveyancing and has been at Shoosmiths almost 22 years. Teams under Suman’s leadership handle referrals from some of the UK’s largest estate agents, banking institutions, developers , mortgage lenders and the government legal department, dealing with all types of residential conveyancing matters including the sale and purchase of houses, flats, new build homes, part exchange, relocation, shared ownership, Help to Buy, unregistered land, transfers of equity, lease extensions, auction sales and re-mortgage work.

Last year, Shoosmiths dealt with more than 100 property transactions with values exceeding £1 million, and a further 9,500 private client completions. The practice is amongst the largest firms accredited by the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme and holds panel solicitor status to all UK mortgage lenders.
