St. Mungo’s, one of the UK’s leading homelessness charities, partners with Habito

St. Mungo’s, one of the UK’s leading homelessness charities, has partnered with free online mortgage broker, Habito, which has pledged £30,000 to support its work to end homelessness and rebuild lives.

To reach the target, the Habito team will be taking on a number of challenges throughout the next 12 months, from sponsored half marathons and cycle rides. Habito will also be organising donation drives for much needed products such as toiletries and volunteering time to share knowledge and skills in St. Mungo’s Recovery College workshops.

Sam Green, Mortgage Expert at Habito explains:

“Since we started supporting St. Mungo’s brilliant work, I’ve volunteered on two overnight shifts to capture data on the levels of rough sleeping in London. Each shift has been a very humbling and eye-opening experience. Rough sleeping is something that is real, it’s happening in rich and poor communities and it’s important that we pull together to help tackle it and get people back into safe housing. I’m really proud that we’re playing a part in making things better for people who really need help.”

Reta Robinson, Director of Fundraising at St. Mungo’s, says:

“Every night, our outreach teams go out to help people sleeping rough to move away from the streets, and we provide a bed and support to over 2,800 people. The money raised by Habito will go towards our vital work to prevent homelessness and support people at every step of their recovery. We’d like to thank everyone at Habito for their generous support, and wish them good luck as they prepare to take on their fundraising challenges.”

Daniel Hegarty, CEO and Founder of Habito, adds:

“St. Mungo’s work day and night providing accommodation and training to help rebuild lives. Housing is a topic we naturally feel very close to, and we’re delighted to be able to support their dedicated teams who deliver life changing services day in, day out.”
