CQS firms have until 1 May to adopt new Core Practice Management Standards

CQS has now published its new Core Practice Management Standards (CPMS), which were announced in November last year, and the deadline has been confirmed.

The amended standards that were announced now have a deadline for implementing the changes is 1 May 2019.

CQS firms will need to review their policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Legal Eye’s associates are already helping firms to update and amend their risk management systems and associated documentation in readiness.

Further details are expected about the new desk-based assessments and on-site visit assessments in the coming weeks. This will represent a change to the way in which CQS assessments are carried out and will cover compliance with the new CPMS along with the National Conveyancing Protocol, which is already a requirement of CQS.
