The Conveyancing Foundation reflects on a remarkable 2022

As the end of the year is coming up fast, the Conveyancing Foundation reflects on what has been a remarkable 2022.

The Conveyancing Foundation is a zero-profit registered charity whose purpose is to enhance the lives of those in the conveyancing industry and to support charity fundraising initiatives.

In anticipation of some exciting new plans for 2023, the Conveyancing Foundation reflects on a year filled with achievements and truly impressive milestones, with the Foundation reaching the incredible charity fundraising milestone of £945,000. The Foundation’s end of year newsletter details the successes and opportunities for those wanting to help those charities and individuals that need their support in 2023.

From hundreds of miles covered in sponsored walks, to emergency appeals, our Charity Lotto and a series of topical webinars, the Conveyancing Foundation has gone from strength to strength and donated a phenomenal £130,716.25 to charity in 2022, paving the way for an even more ambitious 2023.

In early 2022 came the troubling news of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Foundation was quick to respond with the launch of its Ukraine Lotto Appeal which raised an incredible £31,766.25. These funds have ensured that the 13 charities organised by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) are responding to the crisis, providing emergency aid and support to families in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries. Our sincerest thanks to all sponsors and individuals who supported this appeal.

Springtime saw the Mindstep Trekkers complete the Offa’s Dyke and Hadrian’s Wall walks as well as the Welsh Three Peaks and, as summer quickly came around, the inspirational Tŷ Hafan Dads embarked upon the truly challenging 10nTaff challenge.

Both groups were supported along the way by the Conveyancing Foundation Chairman, Lloyd Davies, who commented:

“I am very lucky to have been involved in some enormous and sometimes treacherous fundraising challenges again this year.

“The individuals and organisations we work with at the Conveyancing Foundation, such as our Lotto Legal Practices, Sponsors, Mindstep Trekkers and Tŷ Hafan Dads, as well as our charity partners, LawCare, Agents Together and the Mindstep Foundation are so incredibly inspirational and together we have raised thousands for deserving charities.

“In 2022, we have also worked hard to support the wellbeing of the property industry through our webinar series and wellbeing resources.  Thank you all for your wonderful hard work and support this year.”

In addition to a year full of fundraising challenges, the Foundation has also grown the Charity Lotto, with new Members’ legal practices coming on board and more charities than ever before being supported. The Foundation would like to thank its Lotto Members, BTMK, Convey Law, Direction Law, JP Goldman, Sam Hawking Property Lawyers and Wilson Nesbitt for such incredible efforts in supporting the various chosen charities.

In 2022, the Foundation Charity Lotto raised a remarkable £98,235 for the well deserving charities selected by our Lotto Members.

Jade Morgan, Charity Coordinator, said:

“The Charity Lotto is integral to our fundraising for other organisations and worthy causes, and we are so pleased to see the scheme being adopted by legal practices across the UK. Our Lotto Members are demonstrating the effectiveness of the Lotto in terms of charity fundraising and engagement.

“All legal practices, estate agents and mortgage brokers are very welcome to use the Lotto to raise funds for their chosen charities – please do not hesitate to get in touch.  We very much look forward to continuing our support of the property industry to improve mental health and wellbeing through our Be Kind We Care programme in 2023.”

In 2023, the Foundation will be announcing exciting plans including the expansion of its pioneering ‘Be Kind We Care’ initiative, a new Board of Trustees and Foundation Ambassadors and a revolutionary Charity Grant Scheme that has never before been seen in the property industry.
