FutureBuild is the premier exhibition and showcase for construction industry innovators. 27000 industry representatives from 69 countries attend the London Excel Conference Arena with over 5000 exhibitors and over 1000 learning events.

The Offsite Building sector includes 948 companies who design and supply products and services using Modern Methods of Manufacture “MMC”.  They enable homes and offices to be built offsite in high quality automated factory premises. This reduces the high costs off onsite labour and materials and reduces environmental damage with fast prefabricated erection.

The four Award Judges are Directors of Engineering, Certification, Modular Building and Structural Timber Association. The award criteria include cost savings, ease of implementation, sustainable impact and return on investment.  Judges commented “it’s a very innovative design with clear cost projections and naturally sourced materials for the circular economy”.

The winning team from Passiv Pod are a joint venture between Koru Architects led by Mark Pellant and Strategic Management Partners led by Clive Bonny.

Clive says:

“We’ve developed our zero carbon designs for home garden offices, classrooms and eco-lodges after extensive market research on occupants desire for high quality and affordability. 100% saving on waste, 80% energy savings, and biophilic design improving health and cognitive abilities are built in benefits.”

The business has been supported by Clean Growth UK who assist low carbon innovators from all walks of life.
