Talbots make six promotions to build on 10% growth in 2018
One of the West Midlands leading independent law firms, Talbots Law, has made six promotions to help it build on 10% growth in 2018.
Talbots Law, which employs over 200 people across its six offices in the Black Country and Worcestershire, saw annual fees rise to nearly £12m and took the decision to put in place the foundations it needs for future expansion.
Claire Cooper, Liz Hulland, Yvonne Masters and Richard Stone have all become Senior Associates after overseeing strong regional performance across commercial/residential property and Trusts and Estates respectively.
The latter specialises in wealth planning, estate administration and the creation of trusts and is also a member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
Mary Mocklow, CEO of Talbots Law, commented:
“At the start of 2018 we set ourselves the target of 10% growth and I’m delighted to say we have achieved this thanks to the expertise, skills and commitment of our fantastic teams.
“These four promotions reflect the individual performance of highly skilled staff and strengthens our ability to deliver anticipated growth over the next twelve months.”
She continued:
“We try and do law differently and our people are what make us different. Claire, Liz, Yvonne and Richard are all leaders in their chosen specialism, but they bring a lot more than that to the table. Bright ideas, creativity and an overwhelming desire to make sure our clients are supported throughout the process have all led to them being promoted to Senior Associates.”
Talbots Law has also announced a further promotion of two Associates to help it manage the operational side of its growth.
Myles Ellis, a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, is part of the Talbots Compliance team and, in addition to handling questions on compliance and customer enquiries, has also played a key role in navigating the firm through the GDPR minefield last year.
Zoe Fullwood completes the latest round of promotions after she impressed in her new role as Business & Operations Manager, ensuring the back-office process runs smoothly, leaving the legal team to focus on their own work.
Mary concluded:
“We are continually looking at ways in which we can get better and improve how we deliver legal advice to our clients. This is reflected in the recent appointment of Charan Thiara as Associate and Solicitor to boost our commercial property team in Wolverhampton.
“She has considerable experience of acting for individuals and companies covering a wide variety of property portfolios, including coffee houses, nurseries, manufacturing and takeaway businesses.”
Talbots has six offices in Codsall, Dudley, Halesowen, Kidderminster, Stourbridge and on Waterloo Road in Wolverhampton.
The company recorded nearly £12m of annual fees last year and expects to achieve more than £13m during the next twelve months.
