SLC releases a statement on Land Registry Requisition issue
The Society of Licensed Conveyancers (SLC) Chairperson, Simon Law, has released a statement on Land Registry Requisition issue, saying that the profession can help itself with better attention to detail.
The SLC Chair Simon Law has released a statement that broadly supports commentary issued by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) that post completion work is not being processed properly and promptly.
The SLC recognises that there are too many simple errors being made that result in delays to transactions being processed on the register, and that cost the conveyancing industry millions of pounds a year, which of course ultimately gets passed on to the customer.
Simon commented:
“It is important that we as conveyancers recognise that there is always room to improve how we process post completion work and give this important aspect of our work the attention and resource that it deserves.
“It is not about diverting attention away from the issues that HMLR has with registration backlogs but drawing attention that we all have a role to play in making conveyancing more efficient and professional.”
