PEPA, the Trade Body for Energy Assessor Accreditation Schemes, Announces New Chairman

The Property Energy Professionals Association (PEPA) has announced the appointment of Andrew Parkin, Director of Energy Certification at Stroma, as its new Chairman.

Andrew takes over from Stephen O’Hara, Chairman of Elmhurst Energy, who acted as PEPA Chairman for seven years.

Andrew Parkin said:

‘I am delighted and honoured to take on the role of Chairman of PEPA at an exciting time for our industry, as Energy Assessors will start to provide energy efficiency advice to complement their roles as assessors.  Current and prospective property owners, whether of residential or commercials properties, will benefit as a result from warmer buildings and lower costs. I would like to take the opportunity to offer a huge vote of thanks to Stephen O’Hara, who has steered PEPA through many challenges over recent years and has positioned our industry to move forward and play a full part in helping to reduce carbon emissions.’

Stephen O’Hara commented:

‘I am very pleased to be passing on the reins of PEPA Chairman to Andrew, who I know will do a great job in taking PEPA, its members and the energy assessor community, forward.  I have enjoyed my time as PEPA Chairman over the last seven years, despite the challenges we have faced as an industry at times.  As a passionate believer in the huge contribution that energy information and advice can play, in helping to improve energy efficiency in buildings and reduce carbon emissions, I will continue to take a keen interest in PEPA moving forward.’

PEPA will set out its future plans for the provision of energy advice through the assessor community at its Annual Conference on Wednesday 26th February 2020. For more information please contact [email protected].
