May Price Paid Data from HM Land Registry
This month’s Price Paid Data includes details of more than 87,000 residential and commercial land and property sales in England and Wales lodged for registration in May 2017.
Of the 87,019 sales lodged for registration:
- 63,634 were freehold
- 9,999 were newly built
- 25,707 sales took place in May 2017
- 481 were residential sales in May 2017 in England and Wales for £1 million and over
- 304 were residential sales in May 2017 in London for £1 million and over.

The most expensive residential sale in May 2017 was of a detached property in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for £37m. The cheapest residential sale in May 2017 was of a terraced property in Wingate, County Durham for £10,250.
The most expensive commercial sale in May 2017 was in the City of London for £16,538,605. The cheapest commercial sales in May 2017 were in the London Borough of Barnet and Ashford, Surrey each for £100.
