Landmark reveals new Landmark Academy to provide free learning and development
Landmark Information, the property, land and environmental data specialist, has today launched a brand new Landmark Academy service, which provides property lawyers, conveyancers, legal executives and PAs with the ability to access free training and development videos, podcasts and articles, as part of their Continuing Competence requirements.
To help property specialists meet professional development targets set out by the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA) Continuing Competence requirements, the new Landmark Academy brings together a number of experts from across the industry to provide free-to-access materials.
With free online access to easy-to-digest podcasts, videos, webinars and guidance provided by widely-acclaimed experts, the Landmark Academy gives solicitors insights into a range of issues that occur during property transactions – this includes environmental law, flooding, planning, energy & infrastructure, in addition to guidance on selecting the appropriate due-diligence reports that are available.
By registering on the Landmark Academy, each user has access to a personal ‘My Academy’ portal, which provides an audit trail of all accessed content. This enables lawyers to easily track all training and learning materials accessed, and export a report that can be used to update the SRA regarding continuing competence developments.
Chris Loaring, Managing Director (Legal), Landmark Information, said:
“We have completely refreshed our Landmark Academy service to give the industry greater access to the very latest training materials to support their continuing competence needs. We have some fantastic contributors on board who are experts in their field and the content will be refreshed on a regular basis. It also enables members to easily produce an audit trail of completed learnings for their annual declaration, which we hope will be of great use.”
The Academy is chaired by Professor Robert Lee, the Head of the Law School and the Director of the Centre for Legal Education and Research at the University of Birmingham. Other experts involved with the Academy are Environmental & Planning Law expert, Andrew Wiseman; Real Estate legal specialist Sue Highmore and Environmental Law Director for Landmark Information Simon Boyle.
