Home-Sick: Half the Nation Unhappy in Their Current Home
Home-sick: Research by Nested.com reveals the majority of Brits plan on moving again as size trumps location as prime factor in deciding on dream pad.
Nested.com, the pioneering online estate agent today reveals that half (53%) of the nation are unhappy where they currently live – and have their hearts set on moving to a ‘Forever Home’, where they hope to remain for the rest of their lives.
And while location, location, location has long been thought to be the most critical factor in deciding where to settle, Nested’s research shows that for us now – size is MUCH more important.
Over half (57%) of the nation described it as the most critical factor in choosing a Forever Home.
Number of bedrooms was identified as the second most important concern of 53% of people while location came in third with 52%.
Other major factors include purchase price (50%), proximity to green spaces (46%) and good public transport links (31%).
Nationwide, the dream of moving to a ‘Forever Home’ is most prevalent in Leicester with two thirds (66%) of locals saying that’s what they intend to do. London takes second place with 65% while Plymouth is third with 64%.
On the other end of the scale, residents of Belfast are least positive about securing their ‘Forever Home’ with just a quarter (26%) planning on landing one. Next comes Edinburgh where just 40% of locals think it likely, followed by half (48%) of Brighton residents.
