Groundsure: Climate change – online training module for conveyancers

Legal Eye and Groundsure have partnered to produce a comprehensive, detailed guide to help conveyancers and implement the Law Society’s 2025 Guidance Note on climate change, it also includes guidance on how to advise clients.

The Guidance Note introduces new responsibilities for conveyancers requiring them to effectively discharge their duties in line with the guidance. It applies specifically to property transactions and is relevant to firms of all sizes that carry out commercial or residential conveyancing.

On completion of the online climate change module, through the Legal Eye Academy, you’ll learn:

  • How to advise on climate risks
  • How climate risk searches can assist
  • Explore the physical risks – who should advise?
  • Explore transitional risks – how are property values impacted?
  • Understand the potential liability or legal risks
  • Learn about climate model UKCP18 (the most up-to-date model used within the industry)
  • See how to evaluate flood risks.
