The Conveyancing Association (CA) – the leading trade body for the conveyancing industry – has today (23rd November 2022) announced the date and initial details of its 2023 Annual Conference which will be taking place in London on the 7th February next year.
Next year’s venue is the Leonardo Royal Hotel in the heart of the City of London, overlooked by St Paul’s Cathedral and easily accessible by multiple transport options.
Under the title Change is Coming, the 2023 Conference will take stock of where the industry currently is, look at how conveyancing firms can adapt to the significant amount of change that is coming down the tracks and how best to integrate those changes to provide the best outcomes for the future.
The Annual Conference will once again welcome Professor Richard Susskind OBE as its keynote speaker to review what has happened in the legal industry since he last attended in 2017. Richard will look at the change already here and what will happen next.
Richard specialises in the impact of IT on the law, is an independent adviser to major professional firms and national Governments, as well as being an author of multiple books on the future of legal services.
There will also be a number of panel debates taking place at the Conference focused on a variety of topics covering: reserved activity, big brands and potential conveyancing consolidation, what a future conveyance looks like, and 2025-2030 – the opportunities and obstacles for conveyancing firms.
A full list of panel participants will be announced shortly, and delegates can register to attend by visiting here.

Nicky Heathcote, Non-Executive Chair of The Conveyancing Association, said:
“We are very pleased to be able to announce the date for our Conference next year, the new venue in the heart of London, plus details on the topics and panel debates we intend to cover, and the fact Professor Richard Susskind will be joining us again to look and dissect the future for our industry.
“The Conference is a must-attend event and 2023’s sessions will provide the industry with much to ponder on the direction of travel for conveyancing, what is coming over the horizon, and how firms can ensure their products and services stay relevant to 21st Century clients.
“As always, these events couldn’t go ahead without the work of our Secretariat and Executive who are busy putting the final touches to the day, plus of course our many Sponsors who will be exhibiting at the Conference providing all delegates with details on the products and services they offer, and how they can support member firms in the future.
“We will be announcing final details of all our Conference sessions shortly and would urge those who wish to attend to register now via the dedicated Conference website. We’re looking forward to seeing all industry stakeholders next February.”
