Announcing the new partnership between Groundsure and the Cheshire Brine Subsidence Compensation Board.

Groundsure is delighted to announce that from the 1^st of June it will be the sole provider of the new Cheshire Salt Search report, in partnership with the Cheshire Brine Subsidence Compensation Board.

Much of Cheshire is at increased risk of subsidence due to mining practices. This report (previously a section of the Coal Authority’s CON29M report) is a Law Society requirement on subsidence risk due to brine extraction in Cheshire.

Since 23^rd October 2006 the Cheshire Brine Search has been incorporated into the Law Society approved CON29M mining search, providing a combined coal and brine search report. The search is mandatory for all property transactions within the single Compensation District. To facilitate production of the searches, the Cheshire Brine Subsidence Compensation Board had previously provided the requisite data to the Coal Authority.

The Cheshire Brine Subsidence Compensation Board and Groundsure have been updating the content of the ‘Cheshire Brine Search’ to include additional information in a new and improved layout. This new report has been renamed as the ‘Cheshire Salt Search’ and from the 1^st of June will be available from Groundsure and its search provider partners.

Individual CON29M (now part of Groundsure and The Coal Authority’s Enviro All-in-One report) and Cheshire Salt Search reports are rarely required for the same property. The Cheshire Brine Compensation District and coalfield areas are distinctly separate, apart from a very small overlap area.

Customers purchasing a Cheshire Salt Search report in the Cheshire Brine Compensation District will not necessarily need to purchase a CON29M report unless they are located in this salt/coal overlap area. The overlap area is approximately 18.2km² and only holds approximately 259 postcodes, meaning that the number of potential transactions in this region is extremely small.
