Agents have almost zero confidence in any political party

A new survey suggests that only one in six agents have confidence in any single political party.

On the specific subject of housing, 43% of agents cannot identify an individual party whose policies they trust.

The results come in the latest Voice Of The Agent report.

The research finds that net business confidence has increased from +7% to +16%, with 47% of agencies expecting their businesses to continue growing, despite continued economic uncertainty.

House price confidence remains positive in every UK region, led by Scotland (+23%) and the North West (+21%).

But prospective movers are now less optimistic than the wider public about future house prices for the first time since 2024.

Voice of the Agent spokesperson Simon Leadbetter says:

“Politics and economics now shape estate agency as much as marketing, technology or portals. Agents aren’t looking for ideology. They’re looking for stability, credible housing policy and economic competence.

“The profession remains optimistic about its own future, but remarkably sceptical that any political party currently has the answers to Britain’s housing challenges.”
