Women in Conveyancing Conquer Snowdon and Raise Thousands for Mental Health Charity
Professionals from across the conveyancing community came together on Saturday for the first ever Women in Conveyancing Snowdon Charity Hike, completing a challenging 14‑kilometre ascent of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) and raising an incredible £4,500 (and counting!) for the mental health charity Mind Over Mountains.
The group, made up of conveyancers, industry stakeholders, friends, family and even a few four‑legged companions, took on the Llanberis Path in fog, wind and rain with all trekkers making it to the summit!
The day began with a moment of inspiration when Trek Leader Sam Hawking ran up Snowdon at 6am to check conditions for the group, setting the tone for a day defined by teamwork, resilience and community spirit. Alongside fellow Trek Leader Josh Robinson, the pair guided the group safely to the summit in just under 4 hours offering support, encouragement and expert leadership throughout.
What followed was a powerful display of connection, empowerment and collaboration, the very values at the heart of Women in Conveyancing. Trekkers supported one another through steep climbs, loose gravel, rocky outcrops and visibility so low they could barely see ten metres ahead. Despite the conditions, spirits remained high, friendships were formed and lifelong memories were made.
Among the standout moments was four‑year‑old John, who completed the entire Llanberis Path with his father Stephen Ferns from Bell Lamb & Joynson, earning the biggest applause of the day.
A massive thank you is also extended to the incredible Trek Champions Nicola Lancaster (The Law Society), Sonia & Bronessa Hawking (Sam Hawking Property Lawyers), Hayden Archer (Martello), Jo Sworder (Gilson Gray) Sarah Cookson (Switalskis) and Elena Morgan (Russell & Russell) who kept the positivity high and providing extra support to our hikers throughout the day.
The event was proudly supported by SearchFlow, the official “Fuelling the Climb” partner, with ambassador Shellie Roe ensuring the entire group was fully kitted out for the climb and showing all her grit and determination to reach the summit! Countless participants brought energy, positivity and determination, embodying the spirit of the Women in Conveyancing community.
Shellie Roe, event sponsor and Client Consultant at SearchFlow, commented:
“I’m incredibly proud that we at SearchFlow were able to be part of the Women in Conveyancing Charity Hike and take on the challenge of climbing Snowdon. It was such an inspiring day supporting an amazing cause for a much‑needed sector, made even more special by the encouragement and support everyone gave one another to ensure we all reached the summit together. Days like these stay with you forever.”
Funds raised will support Mind Over Mountains, a charity providing life‑changing mental health support through outdoor experiences, coaching and counselling. Their CEO shared a personal message of encouragement ahead of the hike, highlighting the importance of accessible, nature‑based wellbeing support.
With offline donations, pledges and match funding included, the total raised stands at £4,500, with the JustGiving page remaining open for final contributions.
Jess Smith, event organiser and Women in Conveyancing Committee member, said:
“This was more than a hike. It was a celebration of connection, courage and community. Every single person who took part brought something special to the day. We are blown away by the generosity shown and so proud to support Mind Over Mountains. The only question now is… where are we going next year?!”
The Women in Conveyancing Committee extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, donors, supporters and partners who made the event such a success. Donations can still be made HERE
