Nottingham Building Society appoints Chief Technology and Transformation Officer

Nottingham Building Society appoints Paul Howley as first-ever Chief Technology and Transformation Officer.

Nottingham Building Society has today announced the appointment of Paul Howley as its first-ever Chief Technology and Transformation Officer. In this newly-created position, Paul will lead the development of the Society’s technology strategy as well as being a key custodian of business change.

Paul is joining The Nottingham from the Yorkshire Building Society (YBS), where he was interim Chief Operating Officer. Having been with YBS since 2014, Paul has held a number of key leadership positions and been at the forefront of pushing forward their technology and transformation agenda, as well as a passionate member of their Diversity and Inclusion committee.

Paul has also held senior roles at RSA, Lloyds Banking Group and RBS and is an Independent non-executive board member of PG Mutual.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul Howley said:

“I’m delighted to be joining The Nottingham at such a pivotal time. Every person I’ve met so far, from colleagues to Board members, have shared the same enthusiasm for the purpose-led vision and the future direction the Society is headed.

“I immediately knew it was a place I could add value and an exciting success story I want to be part of.”

“Paul and his team will help us build the foundations needed to innovate and grow in key segments. He is a great addition to the fantastic talent and capability we have in the technology senior leadership team.”

The appointment is another key C-level addition to the Senior Leadership Team announced since the new Chief Executive Officer joined the Society in January. During this time the executive team have also launched the Society’s strategic blueprint for future growth through delivery of its new purpose to colleagues.
