ONESEARCH DIRECT COMMISSIONS IMPACT STUDY ON PRICE TRANSPARENCY PROPOSALS
OneSearch Direct, the largest local search data company in the UK, has commissioned an impact study in collaboration with Tonic Works and supported by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers, to investigate the impact of adding an instant fee estimate generator to a law firm’s website. The findings are to be examined in a series of free roadshow and networking events held across the UK, including Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, London (Legalex), and Bristol, starting from February 1st.
The impact study is in response to framework proposals set out by the CLC, SRA and CILEx in September 2017, which suggests law firms publish a schedule of fees or provide an instant conveyancing estimate tool on their website in order to produce a transparent cost estimate for consumers. The proposals come after the CMA published its final market study report into legal services, concluding an inefficiency in competition within legal services, due to lack of information available on price, quality and service.
Lidia Quinlan, Strategic Partnerships and Panels Manager, OneSearch Direct, comments:
“We wanted to know whether the presence (or absence) of an instant conveyancing estimate tool on a law firm’s website had an impact on the number of enquiries, and consequently instructions received through their website. This is important to us, as we are constantly looking to create extra opportunities for our clients. We have always sought to improve the profitability of our firms, and it’s extremely rewarding when firms achieve growth through initiatives that we have collaborated on.
“From attendance at recent SRA events, and in speaking with our clients, it is clear that price transparency can be a bit of a cantankerous subject. This is why we are so thrilled to launch our roadshow and networking events, as it will provide an excellent opportunity for discussion in a calm and relaxed atmosphere. Our eminent speaker has a wealth of experience and we are delighted that he will impart his knowledge to us. Taking place from 4pm to 7pm, there will even be wine and canapés, so make sure you don’t miss out!”
Matthew Pennington, Managing Director, Tonic Works, comments:
“Publishing prices for conveyancing on law firms websites is likely to become compulsory in 2018. We know it will only benefit your firm if you know how to maximise this opportunity to win more work for your business, and our free roadshow and networking events will help you do that.
“Our speaker, Rob Hosier, will discuss the outcome of our impact study and explain how to get the best out of your online marketing. Strategies will be provided on how to best convert your sales enquiries and how not to compete on price and still win lots of business. Rob will share the secrets of ‘selling’ conveyancing – secrets which will apply to other areas of law too, and his methods can be rolled out no matter what budget you are working to.”
About the speaker:
Rob Hosier has over ten years experience generating new online conveyancing instructions, securing over a thousand instructions per month in the process. His methods provide a sales conversion rate of over 90% for all leads whilst obtaining some of the lowest acquisition costs in the sector. Contributing to a variety of different publications throughout his career, Rob is a well-known figure in the LawTech world, and has helped to develop numerous applications and systems that improve efficiency and communication within the legal sector.
